Formula SAE is an international competition in which competing universities design, build, test and race a formula style race car in a number of dynamic and static events. In addition to evaluating the performance of the vehicle, teams are judged on the feasibility of their prototype being mass produced and marketed to tender a contract for the production of a thousand racecars. NU Racing participates in the Australasian division of Formula SAE, competing against university teams from Australia, New Zealand, and a selection of international teams including those from Malaysia, Thailand and the United States of America.

NU Racing relies on the generous support of our sponsors to develop a high calibre vehicle for the competition. Our sponsors provide assistance in the form of monetary or in-kind donations, training and skills development in areas such as producing high quality composites, or valuable access to equipment and facilities such as dynamometers, wiring bays, testing grounds and consumables.
